The man tried for raping a goat in Chaintreaux (Seine-et-Marne), was convicted of acts of cruelty to a domestic animal on Monday by the criminal court.
His accomplice who had helped him steal the bovid was also sentenced, reports

The facts had occurred last May.
The defendants had entered the farm by damaging the enclosure before leaving with the goat.
Captured by video surveillance placed by the owner of the premises, they were found a few days later and arrested.
He recognizes other rapes
Heard by the gendarmes while in police custody, the main suspect recognized other similar rapes and said he loved it.
"This kind of behavior is a way to debase humanity," said the prosecutor, who described the defendant's sexuality as "clearly deviant".
The man was sentenced to six months in prison with a probationary suspension of two years, an obligation of care and he will no longer be able to keep animals or exercise any activity in contact with them.
He will also have to compensate the six animal protection associations which have brought civil action.
