Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune called today, Monday, for activating mechanisms for the judicial and criminal prosecution of the Israeli occupation for its increasing violations against the Palestinians, and for providing international protection for the defenseless Palestinian people.

In a message on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Tebboune demanded the necessity of applying the provisions of the Fourth Geneva Convention and other international legal references, and relying on the principles of accountability and equality before international justice so that the Palestinians would regain their inalienable rights.

The Algerian president said that commemorating such a day is an opportunity to remind the international community of its historical, political, legal, moral and humanitarian responsibilities towards the Palestinian people.

Tebboune urged the international community, especially the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly, to take a serious and firm stance "not only to put an end to the occupation's intransigence and its refusal to abide by international legitimacy and its decisions, but also to actively and strongly oppose the settlement system through which the occupation undermines all chances of achieving the two-state solution, and produces By adopting a bitter reality of discrimination and double standards.

The Algerian president recalled the commitment of the Arab summit, which was held recently in Algeria, to place the Palestinian issue as a first central issue in light of the current international situation.

He also indicated that the Arab summit affirmed the absolute support for the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to freedom, self-determination, and the establishment of an independent and fully sovereign State of Palestine on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, according to what was stated in the same letter.
