Russia welcomes the resumption of negotiations between the government and the opposition of Venezuela

This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

Her comment was published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry. 

“We welcome the resumption on November 26 in Mexico City of the negotiation process between the Government of Venezuela and the opposition Unitary Platform, mediated by Norway,” she said. 

Zakharova added that Russia will continue to help maintain a constructive atmosphere around the dialogue of the Venezuelan political forces.

Also, the ministry is convinced that the abolition of all illegal unilateral coercive measures against Caracas is long overdue.

Earlier, Russian Ambassador to Venezuela Sergei Melik-Bagdasarov said that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has an invitation to visit Russia, its terms will be coordinated with the schedules of the leaders of the two countries.
