Hundreds of demonstrators gathered Monday morning in the Chinese capital, Beijing, to protest against the closure policy imposed by the authorities to limit the spread of the Corona virus.

The demonstrators chanted slogans calling for the abolition of "Covid-19" examinations and the wearing of masks.

Chinese cities also witnessed protests against the "zero infection with Covid" policy pursued by the authorities, including Shanghai, Wuhan, Chengdu, and Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang.

The demonstrations come amid an increase in HIV infections in several Chinese cities, as the health authorities in China recorded a record high for the fourth day in a row, with about 40,000 new infections per day.

Today, Monday, the National Health Committee said that yesterday, Sunday, China recorded the fifth consecutive record in daily infections with the Coronavirus, which amounted to 40,347 new cases of Coronavirus, of which 3,822 were symptomatic, and 36,525 were asymptomatic.

No new deaths were recorded compared to one death the day before, leaving the total number of deaths in China due to the virus to 5,233.

Meanwhile, the government of Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang, announced the easing of restrictions imposed on the city due to the outbreak of the Corona virus, starting today, Monday.

The facilities will include public transportation, including railways, civil aviation, buses and taxis, which will gradually resume service.
