In front of parliamentarians, the government as well as ambassadors accredited to Congo, the Congolese president welcomed the return to growth, after a period of recession due in particular to Covid-19.

This growth fell from -6.2% in 2020 to 2.6% in 2022.

He urged the government “

to mobilize reliable public-private partnerships and adequate funding

 ”.

Aware that the mobilization of private investment requires an environment conducive to business, President Denis Sassou-Nguesso has particularly addressed the justice of his country, in the fight against corruption.

“

I urge justice to a real readjustment of the behaviors, attitudes and practices of the personnel in charge of speaking the law in the name of the Congolese people.

The intensification of the fight against corruption, fraud and misappropriation through the consolidation of good governance within the state apparatus in general and the judiciary in particular, remains one of the major levers of our action to ensure our partners

 ,” he said.

A speech that did not convince the opponent Clément Miérassa who declared: “

Since 2009, we have not stopped making declarations on the fight against corruption, but on the ground nothing is moving.

Can we seek development and tolerate corruption

?

 ".
