The boy broke both feet and received compressions in several vertebrae after the fall, and the property owner must also pay damages to the boy.

How big the damages will be has not yet been determined.

- The boy still has problems with his feet.

I think the boy and the family want to be able to put this behind them, comments the boy's plaintiff's assistant Lars Morell to SVT.

Broke in maintenance

Falu District Court considers that the property owner had not fulfilled his maintenance duty, among other things because the boy's mother had on several previous occasions pointed out damage to the balcony floor.

Lower corporate fine than the claim

The prosecutor had demanded SEK 800,000 in corporate fines, and the district court considers that the sanction value is SEK 500,000.

But since the property owner has since sold the property and is now retired, the district court has reduced the corporate fine to SEK 300,000.

The court also sees no reason for the property owner to be in prison, and therefore a conditional sentence is considered sufficient.
