A little girl living in Gargenville (Yvelines) was injured in the eye by the hydroalcoholic gel from a distributor in a supermarket in Juziers (Yvelines), her parents said on Facebook last Friday.

They are looking for witnesses to the scene, which took place in a Super U store on November 11, 2022. The 5-year-old is not immune to total loss of sight in the affected eye , indicates 78 News.

Doctors diagnosed a corneal ulcer and the little girl underwent an amniotic membrane transplant.

However, she has not recovered her sight and has not attended school since the events.

Another surgery was scheduled for Monday.

The family is looking for witnesses, at the request of the insurance company for the payment of medical expenses.

The parents say that their child bumped into the gel dispenser in the fruit and vegetable section, and that the substance was projected into the girl's eye.

The management indicated that the company's headquarters were handling the file and had the CCTV images.

The hydroalcoholic gel contains between 60 and 80% alcohol.
