Electricity shortage worsens, construction of emergency tents progresses in Ukraine

In Ukraine, where power shortages are aggravated by attacks on infrastructure facilities by the Russian military, emergency tents are being installed where residents can temporarily stay in the event of a large-scale power outage.

According to officials in the capital Kyiv, there are more than 400 installations in the city as of the 28th.

Among them, the tent in the center of the city was equipped with a generator, a large heating facility, a tank of drinking water, etc., as well as charging facilities for smartphones and a free Internet environment.

When a large-scale blackout occurred on the 23rd of this month, a total of 290 people visited.

An Emergency Situations Agency staff member will be stationed in each tent to accept evacuated residents 24 hours a day.

A person in charge of the Emergency Situations Agency said, "We are always ready for the residents. We will do our best to make them as comfortable as possible."
