On November 26, local time, Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei met with representatives of the Iranian Basij militia in Tehran and said that negotiations cannot resolve the issues between Iran and the United States.

According to Iran News TV, when talking about the resumption of negotiations on the implementation of the comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue, Khamenei said that the United States refused to lift sanctions on Iran during the negotiations, and the United States and its European allies are trying to seek a potential agreement with Iran. Deprive Iran of its "defensive military power".

He also said that the purpose of Western countries' recent pressure on Iran is to make Iran compromise in the negotiations.

In July 2015, Iran reached a nuclear agreement with the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany.

In May 2018, the United States unilaterally withdrew from the agreement, and then restarted and added a series of sanctions against Iran.

Since May 2019, Iran has gradually suspended the implementation of some terms of the agreement, but promised that the measures taken are "reversible".

Starting from April 2021, relevant parties to the Iran nuclear agreement will hold several rounds of talks in Vienna, the capital of Austria, to discuss the issue of the United States and Iran resuming their compliance with the agreement, with the United States indirectly participating in the negotiations.
