Regarding the ``10 increase and 10 decrease'' of the single-seat constituencies of the House of Representatives, the Liberal Democratic Party will decide the candidates for the new single-seat constituencies in the target 15 prefectures after considering adjustments at each local organization. We have summarized the draft basic policy.

In order to correct the so-called one-vote disparity, the revised Public Offices Election Law, which aims to increase the number of single-seat constituencies in the House of Representatives by 10 in five capitals and prefectures, and reduce the number of single-seat constituencies in each of the 10 prefectures, will go into effect on the 28th of next month. The new zoning will be applied from the House of Representatives election that will be enforced and announced after this.

Under these circumstances, the Liberal Democratic Party plans to compile a basic policy proposal for responding to the new divisions and present it at the board meeting on the 28th.

According to the draft basic policy, in the target 15 prefectures, candidates will be selected again for each new single-seat constituency, and each local organization will first make adjustments.

Of these, local organizations with fewer electoral districts are being asked to fully listen to the intentions of the parties and regions and work to build consensus, given that incumbent lawmakers may not be able to run.

On the other hand, local organizations, which have more electoral districts, are requesting that incumbents be prioritized for coordination.

And the party headquarters will promptly decide the candidate based on these adjustments.
