The five (priority) sports were identified, based on a classification that included all sports, and based on a well-thought-out set of criteria that included: Olympic potential in each sport, the possibility of Olympic success, opportunities to achieve Olympic medals, international achievements and championships, determining the level of competition globally, and talents. Which the UAE currently possesses in that sport, taking into account the facts and statistics related to each sport, such as: the number of practitioners, the number of clubs, the reality of training centers and infrastructure, the tools and equipment available, as well as other criteria related to ease of implementation, cost, readiness of federations, financing plans, and others. .

The classification also showed that there are high chances of achieving achievements in many individual sports, given the wide range of competition in them, the distribution of Olympic medals to a large number of countries, and the absence of countries that dominate the top positions in them.

The classification scores and the order of the sports were determined according to the factors studied, with (priority sports) receiving the highest marks.

The sports federations - which were chosen - are waiting to be among the (priority sports), including great work and intensive efforts during the coming period, to bring this vision and this plan that was announced to reality, by working to build Olympic athletes champions who are capable of This is the great challenge that the UAE sport awaits and their presence on the regional and international podiums.

The President of the Emirates Chess Federation, Dr. Sarhan Al-Muaini, stressed the importance of launching such a project and focusing on specific sports, given that it has indications that it is possible for the UAE to achieve medals in it, such as athletics and shooting, which he described as part of the life of the people of the Emirates, stressing There is a need to set many pillars that enable the success of this vision, and to choose the categories that can be athletes and Olympic champions who achieve medals.

The concerned stressed the importance of moving towards schools, whether governmental or private, as they are the first link in the success of this vision, in order to select talents and elite players who have love and passion for these sports and focus on them, considering that the players of the national football team, who achieved a historic achievement for the Emirates By qualifying for the 1990 World Cup in Italy, they were the product of an elite group of players who emerged first in schools, before moving on to play in the clubs they belong to, and then joining the national team.
