President Yoon Seok-yeol announces the 'Future Space Economy Roadmap'.

Deputy Spokesperson Lee Jae-myung of the Presidential Office said at a briefing at the Yongsan Presidential Office on the afternoon of the 27th, "President Seok-yeol Yoon will announce the 'future space economy roadmap' including six policy directions to realize a space economy powerhouse tomorrow (28th)." .

This roadmap also includes plans to establish a new Korea Aerospace Administration, the Korean version of NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration).

Previously, President Yoon proclaimed the 'space economy vision' at the Korea Aerospace Research Institute in Daejeon in July, and at a press conference on the 100th day of his inauguration, the policy of establishing a triangular cluster in the space industry of Gyeongnam-Jeonnam-Daejeon and the establishment of the Korea Aerospace Administration modeled after NASA revealed.

The President's Office also set a goal to promote the establishment of the Korea Aerospace Administration through a special law and open it sometime next year.

Deputy Spokesperson Lee said, "We plan to begin discussions with related ministries after making a legislative notice on the special law within this year." We will try to open the door within the next year," he explained.

The Space Aviation Administration, which will be established under the Ministry of Science and ICT, is a separate organization from the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, and is composed of experts and program-oriented term-based public officials.

In order to expedite the execution of the space development program, the Vice-Minister level, the head of the Aviation Administration, will be given autonomy in organizing and dismantling the organization and setting salaries.

Deputy Spokesperson Lee said, "The space economy sounds like a distant future, but in the process of developing the Nuri, more than 300 companies, including large, medium and small companies, pioneered a new space economy field and created profits." We will lay the cornerstone," he said.
