Russian President Vladimir Putin called for using the experience gained in countering Western weapons in the course of the SVO to improve Russian models.

The head of state made such a statement, speaking at a solemn event dedicated to the 15th anniversary of Rostec.

“The experience that we have received and continue to receive in the course of conducting a special operation and counteracting modern Western models of military equipment is a very good experience that needs to be used to improve the quality and reliability, combat characteristics of some types of our weapons, domestic military products,” he said. Putin.

In this regard, the Russian leader drew attention to the need for close cooperation between Rostec, defense enterprises, design bureaus, corporations and research centers with specialists from the Ministry of Defense.

“And of course, we need to implement and encourage internal competition - our internal, Russian competition between enterprises, give way and put into series the best models of military equipment based on those that are already operating, working, fighting and confirming their characteristics,” Putin added.

Recall that on November 24, the President of Russia held a meeting with members of the coordinating council under the government to meet the needs of the RF Armed Forces, at which he stated the importance of improving the quality characteristics of products of the domestic military-industrial complex (DIC).

According to Vladimir Putin, in general, Russian weapons are effectively used against the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which widely use Western weapons.

During a meeting on September 20 with the heads of defense industry enterprises, the head of state noted that he was satisfied with the quality of aviation equipment, long-range high-precision missiles, rocket-artillery, armored and other types of weapons of the Russian Armed Forces.

As the Russian leader emphasized, domestic military equipment "effectively opposes Western weapons."

At the same time, he noted the need to study foreign-made products.

From the point of view of the President of the Russian Federation, the study of captured weapons will improve the characteristics of the Russian one.

“As you know, all the stocks of NATO arsenals are actually thrown to support the current regime in Kyiv.

This means that we must and can study the arsenals, what is there and what is being used against us, qualitatively increase our capabilities and, based on the experience gained, improve, where necessary, our equipment, our weapons. .

This process is natural, and, of course, it must be used.

This must be done ... as quickly and efficiently as possible,” Putin said.

In August, speaking at the opening of the 10th Moscow Conference on International Security, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that Russian specialists were carefully studying captured samples of Western weapons.

According to him, the results of these studies help to improve the samples.

“We take into account the features and their (Western weapons. -

) specific qualities in order to improve the methods of warfare and increase the effectiveness of Russian weapons,” Shoigu said.

Experts interviewed by RT believe that modern products of the Western military industry are of greatest interest to Russian military personnel and defense industry specialists: artillery systems, UAVs, reconnaissance and surveillance equipment, various missile systems.

“This applies to anti-tank missile systems and counter-battery combat stations and other significant weapons.

The experience of studying them is taken into account in the modernization of the weapons systems that the Russian Federation already has and those that will only be developed, ”said military expert Alexei Leonkov in a conversation with RT.

According to Vladimir Prokhvatilov, an expert at the Academy of Military Sciences, the study of modern foreign-made military equipment will make it possible to create weapons that will surpass Western models in terms of performance.

“Here it makes sense to do what is called reverse engineering.

This is a very common and very useful practice.

Reverse engineering is one of the most effective ways to improve the quality parameters of your own weapons, ”Prokhvatilov noted in a commentary on RT.

"Comprehensive Modernization"

As emphasized in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, during the special operation, Russian weapons "confirmed their best qualities."

So, on October 1, in an interview with Krasnaya Zvezda, Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces Oleg Salyukov said that all samples of military products in service were tested in combat in Syria, and now they are “successfully used in a special military operation, while confirming the high tactical -specifications".

In particular, Salyukov gave high marks to the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system (OTRK).

From the point of view of a military leader, in its class, this is the best weapon in the world.

He recalled that OTRK can use both ballistic missiles and cruise missiles from one launcher, "leaving no chance to the enemy within a radius of up to 500 km."

“At the same time, he (Iskander-M. -

) is extremely mobile and secretive.

And the modernization potential built into the complex and being implemented by us today will allow it to surpass foreign models of missile weapons for many years to come and remain the main model in the missile formations of the Ground Forces, ”said Salyukov.

Also, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces noted the combat effectiveness of the Khrizantema-SP and Kornet anti-tank installations, multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) of the Tornado family, S-300V, Buk, Tor air defense systems, self-propelled howitzers Msta- C”, capable of “acting in the “barrage of fire” mode.

As Salyukov said, Russian armored vehicles and tanks T-72, T-80 and T-90, "most of which have already undergone deep comprehensive modernization," have high combat capabilities.

“So, all modernized tanks T-72B3 (M), T-80BVM and T-90M are equipped with thermal imaging sights with automatic target tracking, which allows them to be used at night and in difficult weather conditions, as well as modern fire control systems,” Salyukov added. .

  • Combat work of the MLRS "Smerch" during the NWO

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation regularly publishes on social networks footage of the work of ground and aviation equipment of the Russian army during the NMD.

Recently, videos of the use of Mi-35 and Ka-52 attack helicopters, Msta-S and Akatsia self-propelled guns, Su-35S and Su-30SM fighters, Smerch and Uragan MLRS, and anti-aircraft missile systems have been made public. Tor-M2U".

At the same time, experts expect an early increase in the supply of improved models of military equipment and new types of weapons, to a large extent due to the work of the coordinating council under the government created in October to meet the needs of the RF Armed Forces.

In mid-November, in an interview with RIA Novosti, the ex-general director of Roscosmos, former Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Rogozin, who is now in the special operation zone, said that in the coming months, the advanced units of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine would begin to receive the most modern domestic weapons.

“We must use the most modern technologies here on the battlefield, as our enemy does.

I know that we are harnessing for a long time, we will go quickly, so we expect that in the coming months the military-industrial complex will supply both the armed forces and, accordingly, the LPR and DPR people's militia with those weapons systems that will allow us to win, ”- Rogozin said.

According to Alexey Leonkov, first of all, the armed forces should receive a significant number of drones, including quadrocopters.

According to him, the analysis of combat use and the experience of studying Western models will increase the range, accuracy parameters and noise immunity of Russian weapons.

“Modernization of domestic weapons is a continuous process.

If we discuss the special operation, then, in my opinion, the experience of countering the products of the Western defense industry has shown the need to develop weapons that are resistant to the effects of electronic warfare.

Although the issue of increasing the accuracy and range of hitting a target also remains relevant, ”the expert noted.

According to Leonkov, the products of the domestic defense industry as a whole effectively fulfill the tasks assigned to them.

“Practically all types of weapons have shown themselves on the good side.

Aviation and Russian air defense systems have shown themselves worthy - they shoot down most targets, unlike foreign air defense systems that Ukraine is now receiving, ”says Leonkov.

Vladimir Prokhvatilov also praises the effectiveness of Russian weapons.

At the same time, the expert believes, the experience of the NMD suggests the need to create new means of destruction and reconnaissance for the Russian army.
