The new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, said he would support Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis if he ran for the US presidential elections scheduled for 2024.

Musk indicated - in a tweet on Twitter - that he preferred a sane and moderate candidate, as he described it, and that he had hopes that this would be available in the current President Joe Biden's administration, but he was disappointed so far, according to his expression.

He added that the most important thing is that the Twitter platform corrected a serious mistake by banning the account of former President Donald Trump, which was done despite the former president not committing anything that violated the law or the terms of use, as he put it.

Musk confirmed that banning a president during his term of office shook half of the American public's confidence in Twitter.

The Twitter administration - along with other electronic platforms - decided to permanently ban Trump's account, after his supporters stormed the Capitol Building in Washington on January 6, 2021.

For his part, Trump said that he was not interested in returning to Twitter, and said that he would still use his new platform, Truth Social, which is the application developed by his company for media and technology, and explained that the platform has better user interaction than Twitter and performs "very well."

Musk acquired the "Blue Bird" platform at the end of October for $44 billion.
