Since he succeeded the Liberals' former party leader Nyamko Sabuni, who resigned quickly in April, Johan Pehrson has led the party as acting party leader.

But on Saturday, he is elected, without opposing candidates, as the new regular party leader at the party's special national meeting.

"The guy at the grill"

In the Liberals' election analysis, Pehrson is described as the popular "guy at the grill" and crucial to the fact that L, who was almost calculated before the election campaign, made a "heroic recovery" and managed to keep his seat in the Riksdag.

Pehrson now has some things to deal with in a party which, according to the election analysis, needs crisis insight, new thinking and a new party culture.

The analysis shows that the Liberals are seen as a drain on the bourgeois government and that, not least, the many divisive and public internal quarrels scare away voters.

But also the relationship with SD chafes and repels many sympathizers.

Liberal voters are "deeply skeptical" of that party, the analysis states.
