At least eight people died in a landslide caused by heavy rainfall on the Italian island of Ischia, according to press reports citing the Minister of Infrastructure on Saturday.

The landslide occurred in the town of Casamicciola Terme, in the north of the island, and "buried a house" and threw several cars into the sea, said the fire department, adding that they were looking for of the missing.

Earlier in the day, the agencies specified that thirteen people were wanted.
