The former England footballer, Alex Scott, now BBC correspondent in Qatar, presented herself live from Doha wearing the symbol in support of civil rights on her arm.

The British network's attitude towards the World Cup was already very clear yesterday, surprising its viewers all over the globe by ignoring the opening ceremony (except for the first two minutes) and instead continuing the debate on the violation of the rights of migrants in the emirate. 

Alex Scott who started playing soccer as a child arriving to wear the English national team jersey, with which he obtained a second place at the European Championships in Finland 2009 and a third place at the World Cup in Canada in 2015 and finally that of the British national team in UK representation at the London 2012 Olympics. 

However, the players were unable to wear that armband as announced, because FIFA has imposed an official anti-discrimination armband.
