The toll-free number 15-22

“To get out of violence, women need to have someone to tell what is happening, to know that there is an alternative.

15-22 offers it”, explains Elisa Ercoli, the president of the Differenza Donna association, which manages the anti-violence and anti-stalking number on behalf of the Equal Opportunities Department of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.

Ercoli also underlined that violence against women “is so pervasive as to make those who suffer it feel caged.

They can only get out of it by communicating, denouncing”.

The anti-violence and stalking number is "a protected and safe space that welcomes and supports the narrative of women", explained the manager of 15-22 for Differenza Donna, Maria Spiotta.

“It's free and accessible 24 hours a day.

The operators respond in 11 languages,” she added.

Furthermore, 15-22 is also active with a chat available on the site and app "where a robot does not answer, but people in the flesh".

“Stories of women who have made it, have put the puzzle of their lives in order, piece by piece, regaining their dignity, financial and working autonomy, psychological independence.

Libellula Foundation: ''Women's time is essentially time spent for others''

Not only in the workplace: cases of gender discrimination occur above all in the home, undermining women's independence: only 9.3% are responsible for financial decisions in the family.

A lack of equality aggravated by the imbalance in the division of workloads: 3 out of 4 women (76%) are not happy with the division of household chores and one out of two claims to take care of the children exclusively.

This was stated by more than 4,000 women involved by the Dragonfly Foundation in the campaign ''The truth cannot remain in the shadows''.
