The

Supreme Court

has rejected this Wednesday the precautionary measure in which it was requested to suspend Rafael Mozo as substitute president of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) after the resignation of magistrate

Carlos Lesmes,

according to legal sources.

The Sixth Section of the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court has already rejected the very precautionary measures requested by the member of Wenceslao Olea and the general secretary of the CGPJ, José Luis de Benito.

The appeals of both were presented against the plenary agreement of October 13, by which the councilors appointed the aforementioned progressive member as substitute president of the governing body of the judges.

Previously, the magistrates rejected the abstention of magistrate

José Manuel Bandrés

-candidate of the progressive group of the Council to the Constitutional Court- in the matter.

Finally, the Chamber that agreed to suspend Rafael Mozo as president of the CGPJ has been made up of judges Bandrés

, Eduardo Espín, Celsa Pico, José Antonio Montero

and

Octavio Juan Herrero.
