A 48-year-old man has been arrested for an alleged crime of ill-treatment in the family environment towards his daughter, a minor, who was allegedly
beaten with sticks
in the house and whom he intended to force to marry a man.
The man, of
Pakistani origin
, was arrested last Thursday and has been provisionally released after going to court.
The stepmother is also under investigation but she has not been arrested for having other minors in charge of her.
According to sources close to the case, the two adults would have continuously subjected the girl --under the age of 16-- to serious ill-treatment, both physical and psychological, with blows with sticks, grabbing, contempt and vexations.
In addition, they allegedly forced her to do her household chores and intended
to force her to marry
an older man.
The school was the one who filed the complaint after seeing the bruises.
The
Family and Women's Care Unit (UFAM)
has taken charge of the case.
The minor's biological mother does not reside in Spain.
