The head of Ukrainian diplomacy Dmytro Kouleba warned the European Union on Tuesday against "fatigue" in the face of the war in Ukraine.

"If we Ukrainians are not tired, the rest of Europe has no moral or political right to get tired," insisted the minister.

"I call on my colleagues in the EU" to "dismiss any doubt" and any "fatigue" and to "finalize as soon as possible the ninth sanctions package" which is "long overdue", he declared during of an online press conference.

"If we Ukrainians are not tired, the rest of Europe has no moral or political right to get tired," insisted the minister.

Significance of sanctions

In particular, he demanded that the public nuclear operator Rosatom be sanctioned because of its role in Russia's occupation of the Ukrainian nuclear power plant in Zaporijjia, the largest in Europe.

Dmytro Kouleba also stressed the importance of sanctions to "curb" the Russian military industry.

"Russia's ability to produce new missiles must be destroyed in order to prevent them from having additional resources to kill Ukrainians, destroy Ukrainian cities and the energy system," argued.

While Moscow has been pounding the country's energy infrastructure for weeks, plunging millions of Ukrainian homes into darkness, it has again asked the West to increase its deliveries of weapons, in particular anti-aircraft defense systems.
