The weather on Wednesday: rainy passage from west to east, calmer winds in Corsica

The weather on Wednesday will be marked by a new rainy disturbance which will cross the country from west to east, according to forecasts from Météo France.

After sweeping the Atlantic seaboard overnight, overcast and rainy weather will affect a western half of the country at the start of the day, then quickly shift to the eastern half at the start of the afternoon.

The rainy front will drain out of the eastern borders in the evening.

The rains will generally be light, temporarily moderate over the South-West in the morning.

The rain-snow limit will be high, 1,600 to 1,800 m in the Northern Alps, 2,500 m in the Pyrenees.

Cloudy skies over the west of the country

In the rear, in the west of the country, the sky will remain cloudy, the thinnings timid with even a few showers in the morning.

These showers will increase in the evening near the English Channel, sometimes taking on a stormy character.

The Mediterranean rim and the Rhône valley will remain on the sidelines and will only suffer a few drops.

The sky will be very cloudy in the morning then the sun will return in the afternoon.

In Corsica, showers will circulate on the west of the island.

A strong westerly wind will accompany this disturbed weather.

Gusts will reach 80 km / h near the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, 90 along the Channel, 50 to 70 km / h elsewhere inland.

Minimum temperatures will range from 5 to 9 degrees over the western half and near the Mediterranean, from 2 to 6 over the eastern half.

The maximum will vary between 10 and 15 degrees in general from east to west, between 15 and 17 on the South-West and the Côte d'Azur, and between 18 and 20 degrees on Roussillon and Corsica.
