The meeting also dealt with the priorities of the Republic of India during its presidency of the Group of 20 for the year 2023, in addition to ways to enhance Emirati participation in the group’s work as a guest for the second year in a row, as well as ways to enhance the participation of the private sector in the two countries in the group’s work based on its important role in supporting sustainable development efforts at all levels. different levels.

The prospects for Emirati-Indian cooperation at the level of multilateral groups and organizations were also discussed, whether existing partnerships such as the I2U2 group or future cooperation opportunities with the BRICS group and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed, during the meeting, that the UAE and the Republic of India and their leadership have strong and close historical relations, and their partnership has resulted in many successes and achievements that support the development goals of the two countries.

His Highness said that within the framework of the comprehensive economic partnership between the UAE and the Republic of India, we seek to enhance our economic and trade cooperation in a way that supports our ambitious goal of raising the volume of our non-oil trade to about $100 billion over the next five years.

His Highness affirmed that the great successes in the course of historical relations between the UAE and the Republic of India are the fruit of the vision of their leadership in order to establish a pioneering and developed model of partnership and fruitful cooperation in a way that supports the development aspirations of the two countries and achieves sustainable economic prosperity for their peoples.

His Highness expressed his aspiration for a new prosperous process of cooperation between the two countries and joint multilateral action, which would contribute to strengthening their position at the regional and international levels.

His Highness also affirmed the UAE's keenness to enhance its participation in the Group of 20 during the presidency of the Republic of India for the group next year, as well as to support the participation of the private sector in both countries in the work of the group, based on the belief in its important role as a basic partner for achieving comprehensive development and sustainable economic prosperity.

After the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the friendly Republic of India, Dr. Subramaniam Jai Shankar, held a lunch banquet in honor of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the accompanying delegation.
