In order to increase transparency, it includes the establishment of a third-party committee that provides opinions on organizational management and other matters.

With regard to the Science Council of Japan, the year before the Suga administration, a member candidate recommended by the council was not appointed, and the government has been considering a review of the structure of the organization.

And in order to carry out a concrete review, we have begun coordination to revise the laws related to the Science Council and summarized the outline.

Within this, in order to increase the transparency of the organization, in carrying out duties, it is necessary to ensure sufficient communication with the government and industrial circles, to establish a third-party committee to provide opinions on organizational management, etc. It incorporates the introduction of a system in which a third party recommends candidates during the selection process.

The government intends to submit a bill to revise the bill during the ordinary session of the Diet next year.

On the other hand, the government plans to monitor the progress of reform even after the revision of the law for a maximum of six years, and if necessary, consider making the conference an independent organization from the government.
