At least 11 people were killed in a traffic accident in Morocco

At least 11 people were killed when a bus collapsed this morning, Tuesday, near the city of Taza, in northeastern Morocco, according to preliminary findings by local authorities, while 43 other passengers were injured.

The accident occurred when the bus overturned on a road not far from the city, located in a mountainous area, and the local authorities announced the opening of an investigation to determine the circumstances and circumstances of the accident, under the supervision of the Public Prosecution.

Last August, a similar accident left 23 dead and 36 injured, following a bus overturning that was linking the economic capital, Casablanca, to the rural Ait Atab region (center). 42 dead in 2012.

The authorities had developed a national strategy for road safety to confront this problem and to tighten monitoring. This strategy aspires to reduce the number of traffic accidents in half by 2026.
