On October 5, following an alarm, the police found a man with knife wounds in an industrial area in Piteå.
The man had been cut in the throat and a man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of the crime.
He was later detained by prosecutors.
Now the man is sentenced for attempted murder to forensic psychiatric care with a special discharge examination.
According to the verdict, there was a great risk that the knife violence would have damaged a blood vessel, which could have led to the plaintiff's death.
