Dubai Municipality reported that the first day of the Farmers' Market initiative, which was held in the Palm Garden in Dubai, attracted a large number of attendees, as the number of visitors reached 1,900 people on the first day of the initiative, and the market continues to receive visitors on Saturday of every week, until the 11th of March. Next March, the market will include a display of organic vegetables and fruits, and dairy products, all handcrafted by Emiratis.

The municipality explained to «Emirates Today» that the initiative, which is being organized in its second edition, is taking place with the participation of more than 40 participants from Emirati farmers, all of whom offer local Emirati farm products at a high level of quality, in addition to various commercial activities accompanying the exhibition.

The municipality stated that it was keen to provide all facilities to the citizens participating in the initiative, as it provided them with a free platform, and logistical support such as marketing their products, in addition to involving owners of home projects in the initiative.

She pointed out that the “Farmers’ Market” initiative, which is organized and supervised by it, is a free social and investment agricultural platform that aims to bring together citizen farmers in one place to sell agricultural, organic and local products directly to consumers.

The municipality indicated that the new season carries a package of advantages, after the success it achieved last year, as the initiative provided more than 50 kiosks for farmers, to present the products of their local farms, including fruits, vegetables, dairy products, organic products, honey, dates, and herbal products.

It is noteworthy that the Dubai Municipality announced at the beginning of this month the opening of registration for the second season of the “Farmers’ Market” initiative, which was launched the day before yesterday, and will continue until March 11, as it is a free social and investment agricultural platform that aims to gather citizen farmers in one place. , and their support for selling local agricultural and organic products directly to consumers, and enhancing confidence in local agriculture, in addition to supporting owners of small and medium enterprises.
