The UAE participates in the eighteenth Francophone Summit in Tunisia

The United Arab Emirates will participate in the 18th Francophone Summit, which will be hosted by the Tunisian island of Djerba on November 19 and 20, with a delegation headed by Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to His Highness the President of the State.

Zaki Nusseibeh began the UAE's speech by conveying the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, "may God protect him", to the participants in the summit. A better future for our countries and their peoples.

He added that the UAE, which currently occupies a non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council for the period 2022-2023, welcomes cooperation with the organization and its countries in promoting security and peace and focusing on the areas of economy, investment, climate change and food security, noting that the UAE hosted the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in 2023, inviting the member states of the organization to participate in this conference.

Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh also reaffirmed the state's commitment to joint work towards sustainable economic and environmental solutions that create a promising future for future generations.

He also thanked "all the Member States that shared with us the success story of Expo 2020 Dubai, which presented its activities under the slogan "Connecting Minds and Creating the Future" and 193 countries and many international and regional organizations participated in it, and he gave a special thanks to the International Organization of La Francophonie for its participation for the first time in its history in this event.
