• F5 Controversy on Twitter over the stamp that Correos dedicates to the centenary of the creation of the PCE

  • Courts A judge suspends the issuance of the postage stamp that commemorates the centenary of the PCE

The head of

Court 30 of the Contentious-Administrative Court of Madrid

,

Carmen Casado

, has decided to annul the precautionary suspension of the issuance of the Postage stamp

that

commemorates the centenary of

the Communist Party of Spain

(PCE), which means giving free rein for sale.

In an order from this Friday, to which Europa Press has had access, the magistrate once again allows the sale of the stamp, ensuring that the resolution authorizing the issuance of the commemorative stamp followed "the legally established procedure."

This decision by the judge comes after she herself agreed on November 11 to provisionally suspend the sale of the seal, as requested by the

Christian Lawyers association

, which considered "intolerable" that public administrations be used to "promote an ideology ".

Now, the judge explains that the resolution that allowed the sale of the seal, adopted jointly by the Undersecretaries of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda and the Treasury, has not been "the object of any challenge, becoming firm and consented."

"All of the foregoing dissolves all doubts about the existence of the factual route adduced by the plaintiff, motivated by reasons of a political nature that do not deny or oppose the facts referred to and proven here," the order clarifies.

The PCE welcomes the decision

Correos announced the issuance of this commemorative stamp of the Communist Party of Spain (PCE), which would have a circulation of 135,000 copies and would cost 0.75 euros.

The general secretary of the Communist Party of Spain,

Enrique Santiago

, has celebrated the measure on his Twitter account and has assured that the stamp will be available this Monday "at post offices and tobacconists".

"The court has lifted the suspension of the commemorative seal of the centenary of the Communist Party, condemning the so-called Christian Lawyers to pay the costs, who have acted in a reckless and politicized manner," he pointed out.

Criticism of PP, Vox and Ciudadanos

The Popular Party, Vox and Ciudadanos censured last week the decision of the Post Office to issue a commemorative stamp for the first centenary of the PCE, going so far as to request the resignation of its director,

Juan Manuel Serrano

.

"It's a shame. Take it back," immediately demanded the PP senator,

Rafael Hernando

, who warned that "communism, Nazism, and fascism are totalitarian ideologies condemned by the

European Parliament

and that caused millions of deaths."

Vox also denounced that the history of the PCE is "of violence, checks, walks, hatred and totalitarianism" against all Spaniards, "including those on the left."

For this reason, he believes that the best tribute would be "for young people to learn about their criminal and genocidal past without manipulation";

and he proposes as an alternative that the stamp commemorates the 86th anniversary of the Paracuellos massacre.

Likewise, Ciudadanos demanded the resignation of the president of the Post Office, since they believe that commemorating the century of life of the Communist Party "is commemorating hatred, crime and misery."

"It also contravenes the 2019 European resolution on communism and Nazism. It stains the image of Spain and it is a shame," the

oranges

warned .
