According to media reports, the US Department of Justice will hire an independent special investigator to investigate former President Donald Trump.
Attorney General Merrick Garland intends to make a corresponding announcement, the Wall Street Journal and the news channel CNN reported on Friday.
Among other things, it is said to be about the investigation into secret documents confiscated in Trump's private estate Mar-a-Lago.
