Prime Minister Kishida, who is visiting Thailand, will attend the APEC summit meeting on the 19th as well and exchange views on trade and investment.

Prime Minister Kishida is scheduled to return to Japan on the 19th after finishing his tour of Southeast Asia.

The summit meeting of the APEC = Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Conference held in Thailand will exchange opinions on the theme of "sustainable trade and investment" on the 19th of the final day.

In this context, Prime Minister Kishida will emphasize the importance of rules-based, fair and transparent trade and investment amid concerns about a global economic slowdown against the backdrop of the situation in Ukraine and other factors.

He then explained the significance of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP), the new economic partnership framework advocated by the United States to counter China, and the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF). This is an idea that demonstrates our stance of continuing to contribute.

The APEC Summit will end on the 19th, and Prime Minister Kishida will hold a press conference there to explain the results of his visit to three Southeast Asian countries starting on the 12th of this month.

He will leave Thailand on the afternoon of the 19th and will return to Japan on the evening of the 19th.
