The APEC = Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit held in Thailand will conclude on the 19th, the final day, with final discussions toward the adoption of a summit declaration.

Coordination is underway to adopt the declaration by incorporating the claims of Russia and the United States, Japan, etc., which are in conflict over the invasion of Ukraine.

The APEC Summit, which is attended by 21 countries and regions, has been held in Bangkok, Thailand since the 18th, with Prime Minister Kishida, Chinese President Xi Jinping, American Vice President Harris, and Russian First Vice President Belousov. The Prime Minister is in attendance.

During the discussion on the 18th, the first day of the meeting, concerns were expressed one after another about the soaring food and energy prices against the backdrop of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The Thai government, which is the chair country, aims to compile a summit declaration at the end of the meeting, but the differences in the positions of each country regarding the situation in Ukraine have become apparent.

According to officials from the participating countries, the summit declaration includes the United States and Japan criticizing Russia for its invasion of Ukraine, Russia criticizing economic sanctions, and some countries not participating in the sanctions. By including it, it means that adjustments are being made in the direction of adoption.
