The IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) Board of Directors has adopted a resolution requesting Iran to cooperate with investigations such as on-site inspections over the problem of nuclear material being found in undeclared locations in Iran.

At the IAEA board meeting in Vienna, Austria, on the 17th, the issue of nuclear material found in multiple undeclared locations in Iran from 2019 to 2020 was discussed.



After that, four countries, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, voted on a resolution submitted by Iran on the grounds that Iran's cooperation with the IAEA's investigation was insufficient.

In the draft resolution, in addition to providing all the information requested by the IAEA, Iran is requested to cooperate with the investigation, such as by permitting on-site inspections and sample collection. are requested to report.



As a result of the vote, two countries, Russia and China, opposed it, but it was adopted by a majority.



Iran's Ambassador to the IAEA, Naziria Sur, responded, "Political pressure led to the adoption of a resolution on the peaceful use of nuclear weapons by our country. It could affect cooperation and constructive dialogue with the IAEA." increase.



Regarding this issue, the IAEA is scheduled to dispatch a high-ranking official to Iran by the end of this month to hold discussions, and there are concerns that the backlash from Iran will affect the discussions.
