Sameh Shoukry, Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and President of the 27th session of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27), which is being held in Egypt, urged delegates to reach an agreement by Friday, warned them that time is not in their interest, and outlined the amount of work that remains to be completed, while The President of the World Green Economy Organization, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, reviewed the great efforts of the organization to advance effective measures and discussions on climate action and strengthen commitment to climate neutrality.

Shoukry said in a letter addressed to the delegates dated Wednesday, and published yesterday, Thursday: "Time is not in our favor. Let us unite now, and reach results by Friday."

Shoukry stressed that confronting climate change and activating various climate solutions requires cooperation between the various parties involved in international climate action, including governments, the private sector, civil society organizations, regional and international organizations, and development partners.

Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zaid said, in a press statement, that Shoukry affirmed the important opportunity this day provides for exchanging views and experiences, with the aim of finding new, innovative and comprehensive solutions to the climate crisis the world is witnessing today, explaining that the Egyptian presidency allocated the conference for a special day for climate solutions, It comes in line with the issue of implementing the climate pledges that it chose as the main theme of the conference, and the areas of sustainable cities, environmentally friendly transport and waste management systems all represent opportunities that must be exploited to enhance efforts to confront climate change and the ability to adapt to it.

In this regard, he noted the initiatives that have been prepared on climate solutions aimed at strengthening international climate action and ensuring that countries fulfill their nationally determined contributions in the field of reducing emissions and achieving the goals of the Paris Climate Change Agreement.

This came in a speech he delivered yesterday, during the activities of the Climate Conference "COP 27", where the session, hosted by the United Nations Global Compact Networks in the UAE and Egypt, under the title "Accelerating commitments to climate neutrality", included a group of panel discussions with the participation of the most prominent experts and stakeholders. during which he discussed the climate agenda of the two countries.

Al Tayer touched on the most important outputs and expected results of the conferences of the parties, and the contribution of this year's conference to accelerating climate action and enhancing the participation of the private sector in emissions reduction efforts. Scientifically, in line with the goal of reducing the rate of global warming to within 1.5 degrees Celsius, through the Climate Ambitions Accelerators Program of the United Nations Global Compact.

The World Green Economy Organization aims to increase the knowledge of stakeholders about the effective measures needed to achieve common climate goals.
