The Futuroscope could not dream better.

The amusement park near Poitiers has been awarded, thanks to its "Tornado Hunters" attraction, the very prestigious prize for best attraction in the world.

"What pleased the Americans was our ability to reconstruct the elements", explains the artistic director of the park.

They were 300 to want the title of "best attraction in the world".

300 amusement parks across the globe which to win the title, competed with ideas.

But for this 2022 edition, cocorico!

It was the Futuroscope amusement park that won this prestigious award.

To seduce the American jury, the Poitiers park has gone into overdrive and hit hard with its "Tornado Hunters" attraction.

The principle of the attraction is simple: the public accompanies a duo of tornado chasers on their expedition.

"We are really with them", laughs at the microphone of Europe 1, the artistic director of the park Olivier Héral.

An immersive experience where visitors will have the opportunity to find themselves in the heart of a tornado.

"We are drawn into the experience thanks to a platform that rotates 360 degrees, and which allows 120 people to rotate at the same time at a speed of 27km/h", he explains.

"Ability to replenish the elements"

Facing the spectators, "an eight-meter-high led screen. It's the largest in Europe", specifies the artistic director.

And the highlight of the show: "41 fans to reconstruct gusts of wind. And that's what the Americans liked, this ability to be able to reconstruct the elements", assures Olivier Héral.

Proof of this is the satisfaction of visitors, "who come out disheveled" and happy to have tried the experience, concludes the artistic director of Futuroscope.
