Hervé Marseille "is an official candidate validated by our National Arbitration and Transparency Commission", indicated the party.
He is the only one to have gathered the necessary number of sponsorships, which opens the way to the presidency.
The election will take place during a congress on December 10 in Boulogne-Billancourt.
The boss of the UDI group in the Senate has been acting in this position since the resignation, on October 20, of former president Jean-Christophe Lagarde, weakened by legal troubles.
Defeated in the June legislative elections, Jean-Christophe Lagarde had already retired from his duties after this defeat, delegating the presidency to Hervé Marseille, without however formally leaving his post.
