The National Bomb Squad arrived at the scene just after 8pm on Wednesday evening.
Residents in the area are not allowed to enter or leave the property, according to the police.
A man in his 40s was arrested earlier in the day on suspicion of crimes against flammable and explosive goods, as well as weapons crimes.
In connection with a house search in an apartment, suspicious weapons were found, the police say.
The man was first arrested at 3pm in connection with a check where he showed signs of drug addiction.
