The UN conference "COP27" on climate change countermeasures held in Egypt is being negotiated towards the end of the session on the 18th.

However, some emerging countries such as China have shown a reluctance to include in the outcome document the goal agreed last year to pursue efforts to limit the increase in average temperature to 1.5 degrees, and negotiations have been difficult. doing.

At COP27, final negotiations are being held on how to accelerate the reduction of greenhouse gases, etc., based on the goal of pursuing efforts to limit the increase in average temperature to 1.5 degrees, which was agreed at last year's COP26.

However, according to those involved in the negotiations, regarding the inclusion of the 1.5 degree target in the outcome document, while developed countries such as the EU = European Union and Japan insist on pursuing the target, some emerging countries such as China are reluctant. It means that you are showing a positive attitude.

These emerging countries are said to be wary of requiring further reductions by claiming that ``1.5 degrees is just an effort target'' and including it in the outcome document.

Under these circumstances, 18 countries, including island countries affected by climate change, have launched a new group to work towards achieving the 1.5 degree target.

The representative of Iceland, who serves as co-chair, said at a press conference, "Many glaciers and permafrost are melting due to climate change. We want to unite and increase our ambition to protect the 1.5 degrees Celsius in order to protect the future of our children." I complained.

COP27 will come to an end on the 18th, but negotiations are going through a difficult period, and it is unclear whether this goal will be included in the outcome document.
