"Jahiz" empowers national cadres in the federal government with future skills

The UAE government launched the "Ready" initiative, which was recently approved by the Council of Ministers headed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, which aims to enhance the readiness of national cadres and talents in the federal government for the future, and empower them with new skills. It is required to design the future and take advantage of its opportunities, through an integrated digital platform for future skills, that supports the government's readiness for the future, and raises the participation of its cadres in implementing the visions of leadership by building a leading future government model in the world, and enhancing the performance, productivity, efficiency and future readiness of the UAE.

"Ready", which was designed in partnership between the Office of Government Development and the Future and the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, represents a new model for government work that focuses on raising the levels of readiness for the future by empowering government cadres with the best future skills in the world, in an initiative that covers all federal government employees, and seeks to embody Leadership directions to enable the government work team to keep pace with the requirements of a rapidly changing world, and to understand new issues and emerging areas that will have a significant impact on shaping the features and industry of the future.

The platform provides federal government employees with four sets of future skills that include 20 skills for the future to be completed within a year, including digital skills, 10X to enhance productivity and accelerate achievement, data and artificial intelligence, and the new economy. The employee acquires skills through job performance.

The platform includes 15 strategic partners from elite government agencies and international companies, who provide specialized, practical and flexible content through the smart platform of the “Jahez” initiative, which enables employees to acquire the most important future skills through two tracks dedicated to building future skills. The first focuses on the leadership level in government agencies, and builds The second is the future skills of government employees at other job levels.

Ohood bint Khalfan Al-Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future and Chairwoman of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, confirmed that Jahez aims to enhance government readiness for the future.

She added that the world is witnessing rapid changes, and the competitiveness of governments depends on empowering their cadres with future skills, and enhancing their understanding of new and emerging topics and sectors that affect government work, which contributes to raising the level of readiness and reflects positively on government performance and productivity and providing the best services.

Gain future skills

Acting Director General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, Laila Obaid Al-Suwaidi, said that “Jahez” provides government employees with flexibility and opportunities to upgrade their skills and acquire new future skills.

She added that the initiative represents one of the transformational government projects led by the authority, as part of its efforts to embody the leadership's directives by launching and implementing major transformational projects aimed at achieving qualitative achievements within specific time frames.

She pointed out that "Jahez" is a new government model to enhance the future skills of government talents and ensure their readiness, by empowering government human capital, providing it with knowledge, and enhancing its ability to innovate.
