  • War in Ukraine Third rain of Russian missiles on civilian targets in Ukraine

The Polish Prime Minister,

Mateusz Morawiecki,

has urgently convened the Committee of the Council of Ministers for National Security and Defense Affairs after the explosion that occurred in the town of

Przewodów

, right on the border with Ukraine and that the local Polish radio ZET attributes to missiles lost russians.

The government spokesman,

Piotr Muller

, has not confirmed this point and has asked

not to enter into speculation until he has the truthful information

about what happened.

Muller will address the press after that meeting concludes.

Some local media suggest that the topic of the meeting could also be the massive Russian attack on kyiv.

The Committee of the Council of Ministers for National Security and Defense Affairs was created in autumn 2020 after the reconstitution of the Government.

The commission was originally led by the chairman of the Law and Justice (PiS) party, then Deputy Prime Minister

Jarosaw Kaczyski

;

the commission is now headed by the deputy prime minister, head of the Ministry of Defence,

Mariusz Baszczak

.

The committee is also made up of the ministers of Justice, the Interior, the coordinator of the special services and the minister of Foreign Affairs.

One of the functions of the Committee is to guarantee the coordination of preparations, activities and efficient decision-making in matters of security and defense of the State and to recommend proposals to the Government or the Prime Minister in this regard.

The Estonian government has been quick to issue a statement regarding this information: "

The latest news from Poland is very worrying

. We are consulting closely with Poland and other allies. Estonia is ready to defend every inch of NATO territory. We have full solidarity with our close Polish ally".
