M23 rebellion in the DRC: fighting, panic and diplomacy

In the DRC, the guns continue to speak north of the city of Goma.

The Congolese soldiers are still facing the M23 rebels, causing population movements.

For several days now, the fighting has been concentrated in particular north of the city of Goma.

Although the fighting continued for part of the day, there was no change in the positions.

In northern Rutshuru, the situation in Mabenga is stable.

To the west, there are still uncertainties about the fate of Tongo, on the other side of Virunga Park.

Finally, about twenty kilometers north of Goma, the Congolese soldiers are still facing the M23 in Kibumba, the last security lock before the provincial capital.
