His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, inaugurated the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in the city of Solo, accompanied by the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. He said, "We are proud that this edifice bears the name of a global human figure whose virtues have gained the respect, appreciation and love of the world. We in Indonesia hold a special place for him and we are pleased to perpetuate his memory and his name in this religious beacon."

For his part, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on this occasion, expressed his happiness and pride in the opening of the "Sheikh Zayed Mosque" in the city of Solo.

His Highness said that the presence of a mosque in the name of Sheikh Zayed in Indonesia embodies the privacy of the relations that unite the two countries and the keenness to leave for our grandchildren evidence of the depth of these relations.

He prayed to God Almighty to place this mosque in the balance of the good deeds of Sheikh Zayed, and to guide Indonesia to further development and progress, and to perpetuate love and good relations that bring goodness and growth to our two peoples.

After that, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President Joko Widodo, and the audience went to the outdoor yard of the mosque to plant the Sala plant, which is one of the symbolic national plants of the residents of the city of Solo.
