The violations included 54 violations, each of which requires detention for a full month, which equals 1620 days, or four years and six months, and the value of the allowance due for the days of detention amounted to 162 thousand dirhams.

The director of the Damas car rental office, Muhannad Muhammad al-Hassan, told Emirates Today that the young man may have intended to harm the office, because he set a record for committing violations that warrant a fine and seizure, as he was driving at a speed of 200 kilometers per hour in most of the streets he passes. with it.

He added that the problem faced by the delay in registering violations was not being arrested by the concerned departments, pointing out that he had reviewed the General Traffic Department in Dubai Police in order to help him solve the problem, but he was asked to resort directly to the court.

While the Director of the General Traffic Department, Major General Engineer Muhammad Saif Al-Zafin, told «Emirates Today» that the rental company did not protect itself when it agreed to give him a car without obtaining his credit card number, which is a deterrent to such reckless people, indicating that many Some offices do not operate according to clear controls, and resort to the police only when they encounter a problem.

In detail, the director of the Damas rental office, Muhannad Al-Hassan, stated that the story began last month when a young citizen named (P.S.A.) went to the office to rent a 2013 Range Rover, and it was delivered to him after obtaining photocopies of a driving license. His driver, passport, and the rental value for two days, according to the applicable regulations.

He added that the office did not obtain the person's credit card, but even if it took the initiative to do so, there is no card with such a huge balance to cover the value of the violations committed by the tenant.

He pointed out that the young man finished the rental period and handed over the car in a very bad condition, as its mirror was broken and its paint was damaged as a result of driving at very high speeds, in addition to shocks in various places of its structure, which cost about 40 thousand dirhams to repair.

Al-Hassan continued that the great shock occurred when the office checked the car's traffic record, only to discover that the young man committed 170 violations in just 15 days, according to what has been recorded so far, pointing out that the office is still receiving notifications of other violations until today.

He explained that the value of the violations he committed exceeded 245 thousand dirhams, and included 54 serious violations, each of which requires detention for a full month, equivalent to 1620 days, or four years and six months, pointing out that the office is now required to pay 162 thousand dirhams, the value of the due reservation allowance. on these days.

Al-Hassan said that he resorted to the Al-Muraqabat Police Station to file a complaint against the man, but he was informed that it is not an area of jurisdiction, then he resorted to the General Traffic Department in Dubai Police as an exceptional case that does not recur with rental offices until the young man is summoned or referred to the prosecution on its part, but his request was rejected. .

He added that what the young man did caused the office confusion and severe psychological harm, and Dubai Traffic did not provide sufficient assistance, although the office is committed to paying its dues on time, and there is sufficient evidence that the young man was involved in committing the violations.

He pointed out that a car commits 16 to 17 serious violations daily that require a full month's detention, and it was necessary to track it down and stop its driver, pointing out that he had only received one notification during the period of renting the vehicle for a violation of not wearing a seat belt.

He explained that "Dubai Traffic" asked him to go directly to court after paying all the violations owed by it, because he could not register a case without paying all his obligations, stressing that he would eventually have to pay the violations if no one helped him deter the harm of the young man.

In addition, the Director of the General Traffic Department, Major General Engineer Muhammad Saif Al-Zafin, told «Emirates Today» that the police do not bear the mistakes of rental companies that do not secure themselves enough, stressing that the young man would not have committed this amount of violations if the rental office had obtained his card number. fiduciary.

He added that the General Traffic Department was referring these cases to the court, but it was found that some companies are manipulating lease contracts and carrying violations for tenants that they did not commit in light of their lack of knowledge of the origins of the contracts.

Al-Zafin indicated that the leasing company wants to evade its responsibility, pointing out that these problems do not occur with the major leasing companies in Dubai, which secure themselves well, explaining that there are more than 400 leasing offices in the emirate, and the matter requires tight controls on the part of licensing companies.
