The “Overview of the Private Schools Sector in Dubai” report, issued by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai, showed an increase in the number of private schools in the emirate to 216 schools during the current academic year 2022-2023, with the opening of four new schools, as well as an increase in students enrolled in Private schools in Dubai increased by 4.5% during the same academic year, compared to the end of the last academic year, with a total of 326 thousand students.

The periodic report issued by the authority indicated that Dubai continues to diversify the curricula available through its private schools with a total of 17 curricula, which highlights the emirate's commitment to providing high-quality education based on international standards.

The report indicated that the British curriculum comes first in terms of the number of students, as more than 36% of students enroll in private schools that implement the British curriculum, while the Indian curriculum ranks second in terms of the number of students, as it enrolls about 26% of students, followed by the curriculum. The American curriculum accounts for 15% of the students, and the International Baccalaureate curriculum accounts for 7%, while 4% of the students enroll in the SABIS educational curriculum, which is a curriculum that combines the International Baccalaureate and the British curriculum.

The report stated that the number of Emirati students enrolled in private schools in Dubai amounted to 32,327 male and female students, of whom more than 60% are enrolled in the American curriculum, followed by the British curriculum by 24%.

The report also revealed that 16,418 students of determination are enrolled in private schools in the emirate.

The Director General of the Authority, Dr. Abdullah Al-Karam, said, "The positive and sustainable growth rates in the number of male and female students show parents' confidence in private schools in Dubai."

Al-Karam pointed out that the multiplicity of applied educational curricula reflects the diversity of cultures and nationalities that characterize Dubai society, and at the same time reinforces the schools' keenness to provide education based on international quality standards, and focuses on empowering students with future skills.

The "Overview of the Private Schools Sector in Dubai" report comes as part of the Authority's initiative to launch periodic reports, aimed at providing information related to this important sector, and providing the educational community and those concerned with updates about it, and systematic analyzes of interest to those in charge of the educational process periodically, and based on the great care taken The Dubai government's assumption of data, which forms the backbone of careful planning for the future, and pursuant to the leadership's directives to deal with data and information in a scientific manner that supports development trends within various sectors.
