Good evening, it

's just been a week

that Peter Feldmann was voted out as Frankfurt's Lord Mayor, but in politics a week can be an eternity.

Political Frankfurt has long been looking ahead to the new election of the mayor on March 5th.

The CDU and SPD have already named candidates Uwe Becker and Mike Josef.

It was expected with some excitement whether the Frankfurt FDP would follow suit at their party conference on Saturday, but the Liberals are not going that fast.

Party leader Thorsten Lieb would like an FDP candidate, but he doesn't want one himself.

Now someone should be found by December 7th.

Such a performance is not really convincing, because even if you don't give an FDP candidate the best chance, it shouldn't look like someone had to be convinced with a lot of effort.

One gets the impression that the house blessing is still lopsided among the liberals because of their participation in the Roman coalition. When he was re-elected, Lieb received just 68 percent of the votes.

The chances in the mayoral election do not increase with such appearances.

Bernhard Biener attended the party congress and reported and commented on it.

But of course everyone is the architect of their own fortune.

This also applies to the Groß-Gerau district, to which the Frankfurt virus has apparently jumped, no longer taking the local economy so seriously.

13 out of 14 mayors are against further logistics halls, only Raunheim reports to the contrary.

Most politicians are also skeptical about the project for a huge greenhouse near Gernsheim.

The cultivation of vegetables in the region means that transports halfway around the world can be avoided, and because of its proximity to the airport, the district has excellent growth opportunities with logistics, which one day could be worth doing without.

But the district of Groß-Gerau doesn't have to wait for bad times.

The district administrator is already expecting a big minus in the budget for 2023.

More money is always welcome.

The Education and Science Union underpinned its demand for better pay for primary school teachers on Saturday with a demonstration in downtown Frankfurt, with 2,000 participants according to the organizers.
