The run-off dominated the final results of the parliamentary and municipal elections in Bahrain, which were officially announced yesterday, and resulted in the victory of some candidates from the first round.

The Supreme Committee for Supervising the Safety of Elections in Bahrain announced yesterday the results of the first round of elections for the House of Representatives and municipal councils, which resulted in the winning of six parliamentary candidates and seven candidates for municipal councils, according to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA).

The results of the first round, announced by the committee and reported by the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), showed a winner and a repeat in nine districts in the Capital Governorate, two winners and a repeat in six districts in Muharraq Governorate, a winner and a repeat in 11 districts in the Northern Governorate, and a winner and a repeat in nine districts in the Southern Governorate.

The committee announced the results of the municipal elections, which resulted in two winners and a repeat in six districts in Muharraq Governorate, two winners and a repeat in 10 districts in the northern governorate, and two winners and a repeat in eight districts in the southern governorate.

According to the committee, the parliamentary and municipal elections will be held next Saturday.

Candidates who obtained the highest votes in the first round in each undecided constituency will compete for 34 parliamentary seats and 23 seats in the three municipal councils during the second round of elections next Saturday.

With regard to women candidates, one female candidate won membership in the House of Representatives and eight qualified for the second round. In the municipal elections, one woman won and seven women qualified to compete in the second round of elections.

The first round of parliamentary and municipal elections was held the day before yesterday to elect 40 deputies to the House of Representatives, and 30 members to municipal councils.
