The Council of Ministers has adopted a new policy for pricing basic consumer goods in the country under the supervision and follow-up of the Ministry of Economy in coordination with the relevant local authorities, to ensure oversight of the commitment of basic commodity suppliers and outlets to pricing in accordance with the policy and not to violate it, and to prevent any increase in the price of basic consumer goods at the level of the supplier or The retail trader without the approval of the Ministry and the competent government agencies at the level of each emirate, and the policy includes nine basic commodities for consumers as they are the most vital to the consumer and affect his purchasing power in general, namely: “cooking oils, eggs, dairy, rice, sugar, poultry, legumes.” This is a preliminary list, and other types of basic consumer goods can be added according to price developments and practices in the national market.

The new policy focuses on developing fair mechanisms and effective procedures to regulate the vital relationship between commodity suppliers, sales outlets and consumers, in a manner that ensures the smooth flow of goods and their provision to consumers in the various markets of the country throughout the year, and defining a mechanism to monitor the commitment of commodity suppliers and outlets to this policy and specific prices, and follow-up on implementation. In coordination with the competent local authorities.

The Council of Ministers adopted a decision regarding the executive regulations of the law establishing and organizing the owners’ union, and its provisions are applied to residential complexes and other real estate established by the federal authorities in the country, and the ownership of which is joint by a number of persons, and the provisions of this law may be applied to real estate that arises from other than the federal authorities After the approval of the concerned emirate.

The law regulates the establishment of the federation, its registration and publicity, its management mechanisms, the meetings of the federation’s general assembly, and cases of its cancellation. It aims to create a legal entity that includes property owners for the purpose of managing, developing, investing, maintaining and preserving real estate units, common and detached parts, enhancing social responsibility, providing a safe and positive environment, and opening channels of communication between owners. and strengthening the bond between them.

In legislative affairs, the Council of Ministers approved the UAE technical regulation for animal feeding requirements in accordance with the provisions of Islamic Sharia, and the adoption of a new policy for exempting industry inputs from customs duties in the country, taking into account the provisions and objectives of the new law to organize and develop the industry.

The Council adopted a decision regarding the controls of the internal Shariah control committees and the Sharia observer, for companies established within the country that conduct their activities in accordance with the provisions of Islamic Sharia, and the resolution sets the controls for the work of these committees, and these companies, after their establishment and before starting their activities, must obtain the approval of the internal Sharia control committees.

The Council also approved a decision regarding administrative penalties for the provisions of the Federal Decree-Law regarding the regulation of linking distributed renewable energy production units to the electrical network. Violations and imposing penalties on them, means of grievance, and financial and administrative penalties for anyone who violates the provisions of this Decree-Law.

The Council approved the country's joining the Global Alliance for the Green Economy, led by the World Green Economy Organization, as the organization aims to launch programs, projects and initiatives related to the green economy, create a model for sustainable financing and establish partnerships for developing countries, to achieve an effective transition to a green economy, and to ensure economic prosperity in the future. It is flexible and low in emissions, and improves and promotes technology and knowledge transfer, capacity building and competencies in the field of green economy, in a way that supports the UAE's preparations to host the twenty-eighth session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).

The Council also approved a decision to form a committee to implement the decision on the governance of federal government higher education institutions headed by the Minister of Education Ahmed bin Abdullah Belhoul Al Falasi, provided that the committee assumes the functions of supervising the implementation of the decision on governance of federal government higher education institutions, and reviewing the implementation plan for the decision on governance of federal government higher education institutions.
