His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, will participate in the 17th summit of heads of state of the "Group of Twenty" and their governments (G20), which will be held on the island of Bali in the Republic of Indonesia, and will begin tomorrow, Tuesday.

His Highness is accompanied by a delegation that includes H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Adviser to Special Affairs in the Presidential Court, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Maryam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Al Muhairi, Minister of State, Ahmed bin Ali Mohammed Al Sayegh, and UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia, Abdullah Salem Virtual.

On the eve of the summit, US President Joe Biden arrived yesterday in the Indonesian island of Bali to participate in the G20 summit, which brings together the leaders of the world's largest economic powers.

Biden's participation in the summit is preceded by a meeting to be held today, Monday, with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, and other bilateral meetings.

In addition to meeting Biden, the Chinese president will hold talks with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron less than two weeks after he hosted German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Beijing.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will head the Russian delegation after President Vladimir Putin announced that he would not attend.

The Ukrainian president will participate via video at the invitation of Indonesia.

The first participation of the new British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, will be at the G-20 summit, where he will meet with Western allies of his country, especially Biden, to discuss bilateral relations and multilateral cooperation within the framework of the "Ocos" treaty that brings together Britain, the United States and Australia.

During the summit, Jakarta will hand over the rotating presidency of the group to New Delhi. The Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, will represent Saudi Arabia.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will participate, and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will also attend, representing the only African country in the G20.

The health and finance ministers of the Group of Twenty countries launched a fund of $1.4 billion to deal with any new global epidemic that may spread in the future, prior to the start of the summit of the leaders of the bloc.

The fund, involving 24 countries, is among the early outcomes of the summit.

The fund was announced during a press conference held yesterday by Indonesian President Joko Widodo, during which WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and World Bank President David Malpass spoke.

"The G20 agreed to establish an epidemic fund in order to prevent and prepare for epidemics," Widodo said in a video speech.

Donors from G20 member and non-member countries, as well as charitable organizations, contributed to the funding.
