The current price spike is linked to the consequences of the war in Ukraine.

Individuals should expect significantly higher gas and electricity bills.

Shopping at the supermarket, especially for the most modest, becomes very expensive.

“

I pay attention to prices.

I look for special offers.

We don't go to restaurants anymore.

I cook at home

 ,” said this woman.

“

I don't buy new clothes.

And above all, we do not know how it will evolve

, ”continues this man.

These retirees in front of two Berlin supermarkets are now paying more attention to their expenses than in the past.

They had to tighten their belts and give up some things that were too expensive.

“

I buy fewer things than before

Others like this civil servant who receives a higher pension are smiling and have no intention of giving up anything.

“

Nothing has changed for me.

I can't complain.

I don't give up on organic products or good meat.

I am satisfied

,” she said.

For this father of a large family met in front of Lidl, it is not easy to maintain his family today.

I buy fewer things than before and Lidl is cheaper than elsewhere.

I haven't taken a vacation for two years.

And clothes have increased by 40%

 ,” he notes.

Young people do not necessarily go shopping, but go out.

Even long inexpensive classics to eat at a bargain price have risen sharply.

“

The doner, the price has skyrocketed.

A year ago, you could buy a döner for three euros.

So it was simple.

Now it's seven euros.

So it has more than doubled

 , ”says this young man.
