The Federation,
in cases in which individual responsibilities are ascertained in court, will act as a
civil party
as proof of the closeness to the gymnasts and the firm will to clarify.
The
President and the Federal Governing Council of the FGI resolved this
unanimously today in an extraordinary session
together with the decision to convene an extraordinary assembly with all the technical directors, team managers and directors of the federal centers so that they all adopt new and stringent methods of behavior to protect athletes.
The assembly in Rome opened with the moving words of President
Gherardo Tecchi
who expressed regret for the suffering that is emerging in these days and the full closeness to the gymnasts who are talking about their discomfort.
Tecchi then thanked them for having raised attention to a very important issue for the Federation, that of the
psychophysical health of the athletes that comes before sports results, because there can be no joy for victories without the well-being of the athletes

She reaffirmed the Federation's commitment to safeguarding the health of gymnasts and gymnasts by equipping itself, since last January, with a
Safeguarding office
, a cutting-edge center created to provide psychological listening and legal assistance to athletes, athletes and their families which is added to the many other concrete actions aimed at spreading good practices in training, training of technicians and orientation to cultural change
